About Baltimore Canvas Products

Baltimore Canvas Products

Baltimore Shade & Awning was formed in 1917 as a small, two-man company for the purpose of manufacturing and selling awnings and shades. In 1951, Harry Hansen, Sr. purchased the company and increased the product line to include custom canvas work like bags, boat covers, and truck and car covers. In 1954, Harry created Baltimore Canvas Products, Inc. and moved the company to our current location.

In the 1970’s, BCP started distributing industrial fabrics and hardware as Ameratex, an award-winning company. In recent years, we have refocused on our original vision: the love of the design and fabrication of awnings and creating custom canvas products.

Baltimore Canvas Products

Harry’s son, Rick, started to take over Baltimore Canvas Products, Inc. in the 1970’s and has been president of the company for over 40 years. Since the early 1980’s, we have been a full-service shop, welding, sewing, and constructing our products on site. With decades of experience, Baltimore Canvas is a great partner for all of your commercial awning and canvas needs.
